Use with a rocking motion while applying pressure to cut through lead easily. Ensure knife is always sharp to avoid pinching the lead came, the hardwood handle and stainless-steel blade make this a very robust
tool.

The metal heel on the handle can be used to hammer in horseshoe nails.
