Product Information

Simply apply a small amount of oil to the area that you'll be scoring, then apply gentle vertical pressure onto the handle and turn one full circle.  Do not go over the score line more than once as this will cause the head to become blunt.

This lens cutter cuts a variety of different sized circles ranging from 12mm (1/2") diameter up to 127mm (5") diameter.

We recommend using a non-slip mat underneath to help keep the base in place.

Customers said this tool "cuts brilliantly" and "makes cutting small circles so simple." Most praised its solid construction and ease of use. However, some noted cutting wheels can blunt quickly with improper technique, and guide markings are only in inches horizontally. Tips include using cutting oil and non-slip matting for best results.

Cuts brilliantly, shame about the guide markings

It's new and cuts really well but the guide lines are only in inches and only on the horizontal which makes centring opal glass tricky. Markings on the vertical and also in Cm would be helpful.

What an absolute find! Makes cutting small circles so simple, once you are used to it. Just be sure to tighten the screen holding the cutting head in position tight enough to prevent it slipping and you will have perfect circle score lines !

Also use a piece of Non slip matting under your glass, I think they should include it to fit the bed, but that's just me I guess!

I love it! Once I got the hang of using a tiny drop of oil on the glass in front of the cutter, it cuts the glass like a dream. Following Warm Glass's video on breaking out a circle made the whole thing easy.

I love this and now love cutting circles! Excellent well made product.

I have to re-review this product as I have now replaced the cutting wheel and it is cutting circles easiy!

This was so frustrating after receiving this piece of equipment and it didn't work well at all without pressing so hard and then it would take forever to cut just a couple of circles. So I was obviously gutted, but in the end put it to the back of the cupboard.

I recently received a commission to do lots of circles and I groaned inwardly and said yes of course! Decided to get the circle cutter out again and it was a nightmare. Ordered a new cutting wheel and it's brilliant. Going through them so easily. Love it! So pleased with this now.

I contacted Warm Glass and told them that since replacing the cutting wheel, it is working very well indeed and they have reimbursed me the cost of the replacement cutting wheel.

Thank you so much Warm Glass.

It interesting reading the other reviews as I have not experienced the difficulties others have. I have had mine for a while now and apart from making sure I retighten the handle as it unscrews as you use it, it is fabulous. In the last month I have cut 110 9cm circles (and many more before that) and I am still using the first of the 3 cutting wheels. I wouldn't be without it

I've had mine for a while but as others said, the cutters blunted quickly, the wheel with the cutters on spins around even when tightened really well. It's also awkward and tricky to use. The idea is great and it's brilliant when it works but for the price it's really unreliable and doesn't last as long as I expected it too. I wouldn't recommend this item I'm afraid.

Warm Glass reply: Sorry, this is the best of the Hobby lens cutters we can find. If the wheel becomes loose, try rotating the arm in the opposite direction, the action of turning can undo the wheel in one direction, depending on which side it's mounted.

The actual item is good and easy to use, but after cutting just a few circles mine was totally blunt. (All three of them) This happened over a long period of time and I got in touch to report this fault, but I've been told it's too late and they won't do anything about it. Really disappointed as it's not cheap and it should last longer than cutting 8 circles.

I also agree with the review below that says it's hard to tighten it without it moving.

So the idea is good but it seems to have some faults.

Warm Glass Response: We are sorry to hear that you found the cutter to blunt quickly, it's important to just cut a line once as over-cutting will blunt a cutter this fast.

Good concept with some manufacturing weaknesses. The main shaft was poorly machined and was sticking in the bushing - bicycle oil helped. I removed the spring washer behind the cutting head and this improved the cut. Lots of cutting oil needed on the head ensures the cutting wheel turns. It now works, but at over £60 I would expect better quality

Easy to apply. I placed a small silicon mat on the bottom plate to prevent the glass from moving. I was very pleased to learn that it even cut small circles with ease. I can in good conscience recommend this easy cutter.

I had been using the Morton teeny Circle Cutter but wasn't at all happy with it. This one makes light work of cutting small circles and is compact enough to set neatly on your desk. It feels very solid and looks like it will last many years. It may be more expensive than the Morton but I would say it is worth every penny.

This is a great tool and I've had so much fun playing at cutting circles with not actually a project in mind. Very easy to use and accurate, although I tape down the edges of the glass to avoid any slipping.

This is a great little tool. It's sturdy, doesn't take up a lot of space and although very easy to use it does exactly what it says. Couple this with Siberschnitt breaking pliers and you have an almost perfect combination for cutting glass circles, even opal ones.

Excellent cutter and worth every penny. I have tried several times to cut circles by other means, but have to say this really makes it very simple. A must have for any glass studio!

Very pleased with this little tool. Start with a small circle and then try larger ones. It took me three or four goes before the larger ones worked but since then everything has worked fine! It is very simple to use and cuts brilliant circles! Definitely worth buying.
