Product Information

A spiral tie-dye inspired stencil. Experiment using more than one powder shade with this stencil to add something different to your glass art work. Size: 15cm x 15cm.

These are the same stencils that Tanya Veit teaches with in her Extreme Fused Glass II workshop.

Tips on Using Stencils:

We recommend using Bullseye powders with the stencils.  Strong colours are best, like Black 0100.08, Deep Red 0224.08, Red 0124.08, Tomato Red 0024.08, Orange Opal 0125.08, Dark Forest Green 0141.08, Jade Green 0145.08, Steel Blue Opal 0146.08, Deep Cobalt Blue 0147.08, Midnight Blue 1118.08, Aventurine Blue 1140.08, Deep Royal Purple 1128.08, Dark Rose Brown 1109.08.

Use a powder sifter to sift a thin layer of powder over the stencil onto a light coloured background glass. Its best to use as little powder as possible so that you can lift the stencil off easily without smudging it. It should not be necessary to use glue.

Fire your glass as normal. Stencils work best on the top layer of glass, they can be sandwiched in between layers but the image won’t be as crisp after firing.

This stencil can also be used with our powder printing set:

Made from quality flexible plastic, our stencils are also suitable for other craft uses such as card making and decorating, as they can be used with paint, ink, chalk etc.

This is a great design for using with bright colours. Great for using with powder frit and glass line paints. I have had some great results from gently painting over stencil then sifting small amounts of powder frit enough to coat the wet glass line. Adding a little of fine frit for added depth once stencil is removed. Green, yellows and blues or purples have worked well. Cleaning stencil gently will allow you to reuse it for longer.
