Product Information
Floral Former Stainless Steel Mould

This drape mould is great for making smaller glass vases or you can take your finished glass art and drill a hole in the base to create an original pendant light!

11.5cm high, 5.5cm wide at top and 8.5cm wide at bottom. The glass should be a maximum of 20cm x 20cm unless the mould is set on props.

Will this mould fit in my kiln?

We recommend using Boron Nitride spray with this mould.

See the Firing Guide download for a firing schedule (the drape mould schedule). Please note that the schedule is in Fahrenheit. Alternatively use the following schedule for Bullseye Glass:

Segment Rate (C/hr) Temp. Hold
1 167C 650C 0:10
2 999 482C 1:00
3 53C 371C 0:00

As an alternative for creating vases, try our range of drop out rings, or the Mini Lamp Bender Mould.

All our moulds are designed for multiple use and with care should last for many firings.

Great moulds. The Slumpy's draping schedule is for System 96 glass and I found wasn't hot enough for Bullseye. I took it to 735 with a very slow anneal and ended up with lovely clean results. The recommended Combat Boron Nitride Aerosol Spray is worth its weight in gold. Such an easy release. I applied four-five thin coats and have had multiple firings from it.

A fabulous mould! I prepared the mould using the guidelines of the first reviewer (lightly sanded, applied kiln wash and used a circle of thinfire). On my first attempt, I slumped a piece of pre fused opal streaky with spectacular results. Although the draping is not uniform, I have ended up with a gorgeous sculptural object.

Purchased this metal former to replace the ceramic vase former which broke after the first firing when I tried to remove the glass. Following advice I sanded the metal former and applied a thick coating of kiln wash. I then cut a small circle of thinfire to cover the top and placed the glass over (this prevents air bubbles round the base). I haven't used the spray but I am getting lovely results and would definitely recommend this metal former which will last years. Hope this helps.

Use this mold loads, just ordered 3 more. Gave it a slight rub with fine sandpaper then applied usual mold preparation. It appears a bit patchy and speckled but I have been firing it to make candle holders for the last 2 years and not reapplied the preparation.

I have used this former a number of times with great results, I have first fully fused two pieces of glass then placed them on the former to slump. The only problem I have is depending on the glass I have had quite a lot of devirification. Have not tried a spray!

I used this "former" for the first time and found that glass that had already been fired on full fuse cracked during the slump firing. I then put a piece of unfired glass over and slumped this was more successful but bubbles formed around the base and splintered when removed from the former. I did not use the spray
