Product Information
Simple Round Bead Mould

Create jewellery ranging from simple and casual to dramatic and elegant with this easy to use mould.

This mould creates up to six contemporary beads per firing, in three sizes: 1.125, 1.375, and 1.525 inches (30, 35, 40 mm) in diameter.

Fill Weights: 7g, 9g and 17g.

When filling the mould, pile the frit in a pyramid or dome shape so the centre of the mould is filled higher than the edges. This helps the correct flow of glass during firing, lowering the risk of the glass 'grabbing' the mould sides as it fires:

We strongly recommend using ZYP Boron Nitride Spray with our casting moulds for the very best results. Primo Primer can also be used. Standard shelf primer is not suitable.

Because of the mould’s engineering, the beads almost never require any cold work (grinding or polishing). The finished beads can be strung on leather or silver chains or used however you wish.

The mould itself measures approximately 7 x 5.25 x 1 inches (18 x 13.5 x 2.5 cm).

Will this mould fit in my kiln?

For smaller beads, try the nano bead mould.

See the project sheets under the image for complete instructions and firing schedules.

See how easy these beads are to make in the video below.

Please note that all our moulds are hand-made and therefore the dimensions may vary slightly from those shown. Mould manufacturers allow a tolerance of up to 2cm.

All our moulds are designed for multiple use and with care should last for many firings.

I have often use colour de verre moulds, they are incredibly easy to use and produce amazing results. This mould is another brilliant example in their range. Just weigh out your frit and place into the mould, it is as simple as that. I do how ever use Boron Nitrade spray in my mould as I find this give a better finish to the round beads.
