This exciting fibre product is reusable for many firings, safe and can withstand higher temperatures than our standard Fibre Paper, making it a great addition to any studio.

You can also give this versatile fibre blanket more structure with SilkeMat Rigidizer, allowing you to create incredible slumping moulds for multiple firings.

Each blanket is approximately 6mm thick and is available in three different sizes. These can be cut and handled with minimal safety concern.

It is recommended that SilkeMat^® is pre-fired to 788°C for 15-20 minutes to burn out any moisture. Full instructions, tips and advice can be found in the product PDFs.

Please note: If using SilkeMat^® as a firing surface for COE90 glass (especially opal colours), a light dusting of dry kilnwash over the pre-fired blanket is recommended as an effective separator.
