Bullseye Frit - Red Opalescent (Coarse).

Reactive Glass This is a strong colour, complimented by either similar tones for an eye-catching design or softer colours to calm the piece.

Bullseye frit is made from crushed, screened and magnetically cleaned Bullseye Compatible sheet glass. Available in a huge variety of colours, frit gives the opportunity to add a unique element to your glass work. Frits are extremely versatile and can be used in kilnforming, including glass sketch and painting with light techniques, as well as in torch working and blowing, to create colours and patterns on surfaces.

Selenium, Sulphur

May react with:

Copper, Lead, Silver

Cold characteristics:

Frits can appear slightly different to their fired colour, even when the glass is not a striker. Please see the bottom half of the sheet glass image below for a better idea of the fired colour.

Working notes:

A cadmium/selenium glass. Can react with lead-bearing glasses or overglazes. Possible reactions with 1311, 1215. Much colour variation typical upon firing. If specific colour is important, always test before beginning project. Use glasses
from same dates. Do not assume that powders of the same colour when cold will fire identically.

This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for an extended period.
