Product Information

Frits and powders are one of the most versatile of accessory glasses. Learn how to use them to their full potential, with new techniques such as powder printing.

You will finish this class with a slumped plate and four coasters, showcasing your new skills.

Time and Place:

Duration 1 Day - 10.00am to 4.00pm - Total 6 hours

Class Description:

No previous fusing experience required.

This class covers a range of techniques for working with frits and powders. With a hands-on approach, we will explore various methods of working with powders to create colour, depth and imagery in your work.

In the class we will try powder printing, a new technique which is an excellent introduction to incorporating imagery into your glass work. We will also experiment with river rock reactions, and with sifting and manipulating layers of glass to capture and covert light as it passes through the piece.

Explore colour, free-hand application and stencilling as well as fascinating dilution techniques.

There is no cutting involved in this class and the techniques are suitable for both beginners and experienced glass artists.

Preparation and Information:

  • No previous experience required.
  • Information about your booking will be emailed to you prior to the course date.
  • Please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes.
  • We provide dust masks, however if you have your own you may bring it with you for comfort.
  • All materials are included and all the necessary tools are provided.
  • A delicious lunch is also included. Please advise if you require a vegetarian lunch or have food allergies.
  • The maximum class size is 8 people.
  • We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90).

Cancellation Policy

If your cancellation is more than 28 days before the class, a 90% refund will be applied. For cancellations up to 7 days in advance, a 50% refund will be given. After this date, we are unable to offer any refunds. Cancellation of any class incurs a 10% admin fee of the total cost of the class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy.

A really exciting, enjoyable day with good company. This course gives plenty of opportunities to play with colours of glass, and to learn all sorts techniques. We have covered silk screen and stencil printing with powders as well as blending and sifting colours using stencils, brushes and other tools to create images on glass.
