Large Snowflakes Mould

Make beautiful snowflakes using this fantastic mould. Perfect for Christmas! Try adding dichroic frit of flakes to create some sparkle.

Also available in Small and Medium so you can make a flurry of different sized flakes!

You can make 2 snowflakes in 2 different styles with each firing using this mould. See the information sheet for details on how to use this mould, including firing schedule.

We strongly recommend using ZYP Boron Nitride Spray with our casting moulds for the very best results. Primo Primer can also be used. Standard shelf primer is not suitable.

snowflake mould for glass

Mould size: 25cm x 14cm x 3cm

Snowflake Sizes: 11cm x 12cm approximately

Fill Weights: 25-30 grams of frit in each snowflake

When filling the mould, pile the frit in a pyramid or dome shape so the centre of the mould is filled higher than the edges. This helps the correct flow of glass during firing, lowering the risk of the glass 'grabbing' the mould sides as it fires:

Took a while to experiment with different temps in my kiln, firebox 14. Now happy with the result, sometimes even put them back in upside down for another fuse, this time a tack,, not so much to do afterwards ...

Great mould, have tried different firing temps for different results and like all of them! Used primo primer and the snowflakes came out with no problems. Now I need the medium one to make lots more!
