Product Information

This class is an exciting introduction to the myriad of design possibilities that pattern bars and working with flow can bring to your glass art.

“This technique has been a really brilliant way to develop my work!”

In this class you will create two different types of pattern bar and build them into two finished pieces.

Time and Place:

Duration 2 Days - 10.00am to 4.00pm – Total 12 hours

Warm Glass UK, 5 Havyat Park, Wrington, Bristol. BS40 5PA

Class Description:

Prerequisite: Basic glass fusing experience.

This two day class will introduce you to a number of ways to construct pattern bars, with a focus on design and flow. Working through a range of techniques, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of how glass moves and flows with the application of heat and gravity.

We will also discuss different firing schedules that are appropriate for each project – each small variation can yield greatly different results. This class will take you through designing and firing pattern bars to cutting them, assembling them and firing into the finished piece of glass art.

The course is well-planned with a variety of techniques considered. Clear explanations with handouts but most of the time was spent on hands-on activities. I made 4 artefacts plus the makings of a couple of others which I can complete at home.
