Product Information

Explore the cutting edge of image transfer and manipulation for kilnforming in this intensive class.

“I’ve always wanted to put drawn and photographic images on glass, it’s great to learn something new”.

You will finish this class with three pieces made using the three methods presented.

Duration 2 days - 10.00am to 4.00pm - Total 12 hours.

Class Description

New digital technologies have opened up some exciting areas which allow image transfer and printing processes to be used by the glass artist.  This class will explore three specific areas.

  • creating images using digital technology
  • screen printing onto glass
  • sand blasting glass

Using imagery ranging from photographs to hand-drawn artwork, you will learn how to make decal transfers, print images from pre-prepared screens and sandblast through stencils prepared using a variety of methods.

This class is both intensive and rewarding, giving you the knowledge and ability to go on to make unique artwork.

What to Prepare

  • prerequisite: basic glass fusing experience
  • please let us know if you are, or think you might be pregnant due to some materials used on this course
  • information on your booking will be emailed to you prior to the course date
  • please wear work clothes and closed toed shoes
  • we provide dust masks, however if you have your own you may wish to bring it with you for comfort
  • all materials and a delicious lunch are included and all necessary tools are provided
  • please advise us if you require a vegetarian lunch or have any food allergies
  • we restrict the class size to 8 people
  • we teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)

Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course 90% refund, after that date a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week prior to the course.  Cancellation of any class incurs a 10% admin fee of the total cost of the class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy.
