Product Information

This intensive workshop will introduce you to the exciting and rewarding world of mould making and glass casting.

“The possibilities this technique has for development of my work both in fusing & kilncasting are endless, it has been brilliant!”

In this class you will complete two cast pieces using different methods and materials.

Time and Place

Duration 2 days - 10.00am to 4.00pm - Total 12 hours.

Class Description

This two day class will familiarise you with the many different materials and processes used in casting and how and when to use them.

We will make two projects, and there will be demonstrations of alginate, gelflex, different types of refractory plaster and other types of mould making materials and techniques.

You will make and fire pieces that will teach you how to successfully cast small objects.  We will discuss complex casting methods and how to create custom firing schedules for different projects.

What to Prepare

  • prerequisite: basic glass fusing experience
  • information on your booking will be emailed to you prior to the course date
  • please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes
  • We provide dust masks, however if you have your own, you may wish to bring it with you for comfort.
  • all materials and a delicious lunch are included and all necessary tools are provided. 
  • please advise us if you require a vegetarian lunch or have any food allergies
  • we restrict the class size to 8 people
  • we teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)

Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course 90% refund, after that date a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week prior to the course.  Cancellation of any class incurs a 10% admin fee of the total cost of the class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy.
