Create and control fantastic eye-catching effects in glass.

You will finish this class with one slumped plate and four coasters, and a wide range of samples exploring the endless combinations and effects of glass reactions. 

Time and Place:

Class Description:

Many glass artists use reactions in their work to stunning effect. Learn how the chemistry of glass can create beautiful results in your fused glass pieces.

Take it further. The reactive potential of Bullseye glass can be combined with metal inclusions. Learn how to effectively use metal meshes, foils, wire and powders in your art glass. Explore the new Alchemy glass range working with silver foil to create magical stunning effects.

Appropriate firing schedules will be discussed as well as invaluable information on bubble control. This class is an excellent choice for people who want to add some exciting new techniques to their fused glass repertoire.

Teacher - Megan O'Hara, Warm Glass Studio Coordinator, who has trained at Bullseye Glass in Oregon.

Preparation and Information:

  • Prerequisite: basic glass fusing experience
  • Information on your booking will be emailed to you prior to the course date.
  • Please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes.
  • We provide dust masks, however if you have your own you may wish to bring it with you for comfort.
  • All materials and a delicious lunch are included and all the necessary tools are provided.
  • Please advise us if you require a vegetarian lunch or have any food allergies.
  • We restrict the class size to 8 people.
  • We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90).

Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course 90% refund, after that date a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week prior to the course.  Cancellation of any class incurs a 10% admin fee of the total cost of the class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy.

Definitely the greatest asset, as far as this class was concerned at least, is Megan herself. A wonderful, clear, informative presentation well backed up with notes and info packs, and followed by a ‘can do’ attitude. Individual, knowledgeable one to one advice and generally lovely warm personality.
