Product Information

This intensive workshop introduces you to the exciting and rewarding world of mouldmaking and glass casting.

You will complete two cast pieces using different casting methods.

Class Description

Prerequisite: Basic glass fusing experience

This two day class will familiarise you with the many different materials and processes used in casting and how and when to use them.

We will make two projects, with demonstrations of alginate, Gelflex, different types of refractory plaster and other types of mouldmaking materials and techniques.

You will make and fire piece that teach you to successfully cast small scale objects. We will also discuss complex casting methods and how to create custom firing schedules for different firing projects.

Preparation and Information

  • Prerequisite: Some glass fusing experience
  • Information about your booking will be emailed to you prior to the course date.
  • Please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes.
  • We provide dust masks, however if you have your own you may bring it with you for comfort.
  • All materials are included and all the necessary tools are provided.
  • A delicious lunch is also included. Please advise if you require a vegetarian lunch or have food allergies.
  • The maximum class size is 8 people.
  • We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90).

Cancellation Policy

If your cancellation is more than 28 days before the class, a 90% refund will be applied. For cancellations up to 7 days in advance, a 50% refund will be given. After this date, we are unable to offer any refunds. Cancellation of any class incurs a 10% admin fee of the total cost of the class. In order to keep class costs low for all, we make no exceptions to this policy.

You are never too experienced to learn! Becky proved you can teach an old dog new tricks, and taught me how to cast properly, with all the hints and tips to make my work a lot more professional and cost effective. I learnt a lot about glass in general that I had either missed or forgotten.
