Giving Back
Here at Warm Glass UK we believe in doing what we can to help others to thrive. We call this Giving Back.
Our Charity Project
As a team we wanted to help a charitable project as part of our ethos of giving back. We chose a project in Cambodia, which Simon and Pippa have both visited. The Mekong Wheelchair Project manufactures and distributes 1000 appropriate wheelchairs a year to disabled people throughout Cambodia. We have pledged to raise awareness and raise funds to support the workshop and the wheelchair users it helps.
“This project is quite personal to me as I helped set it up twenty-five years ago. The project has produced over 25,000 wheelchairs since 1993 and continues to help people every day." Simon Gue, Managing Director, Warm Glass UK

Watch our short video to find out more about our chosen charity. So far, we have raised over £3,000 - enough money for 24 wheelchairs for The Mekong Wheelchair Project. |
In May 2019 several members of the Warm Glass team raised enough money for 12 wheelchairs by running the Bristol 10k. Most of us were not natural runners, but it was a fantastic day and we are grateful to everyone who sponsored us. You can see how we got on in this video. |

Simon visiting some of those who have benefitted from the Mekong Wheelchair Project:
With your support, we can make a significant and positive impact on many people’s lives in Cambodia. Our target in 2019 was to raise enough money to fund 24 wheelchairs and to support the workshop, and with your help, we succeeded. Thank you.

What else have we done to give back?
Taking responsibility for our environmentIn 2018, alarmed by the David Attenborough Blue Planet II documentary, the team here at Warm Glass dedicated ourselves to implementing new sustainable packaging. Over the year we have achieved the following: ![]()
Our campaign was very well received and we really appreciate your words of encouragement that have supported us to have sustainability at the core of our business. Find out more here: Caring for the Environment |
Creative UpcyclingWe donated our used glass crates to the Incredible Edible project in Bristol. They converted them into planters for their urban garden projects. You can read more about the project on their website: ediblebristol.org.uk
They have been upcycled as many different things, from chairs to toolboxes and even a go-kart! This is the creative side of our commitment to reduce waste. |
