A cool, fresh cyan blue opal which works well with white medium grade frit.
Rods can be used in torch-working and kilnforming, and add an exciting difference to glass work. Drawn from compatible Bullseye glass, each rod is approximately 42cm long and 4-6mm in diameter.
Contains:
Copper
May react with:
Selenium, Sulphur
Cold characteristics:
Slightly translucent opalescent.
Working Notes:
Torch: To avoid reduction, work in a neutral-to-oxidizing flame atmosphere. Can turn rust colour in reduction.
Kiln: At full fuse, capped or uncapped, the colour is consistent, even and pure. At slumping temperatures and low-tack fusing temperatures (1150-1250°F/621-677°C), grey clouding may occur (similar to Steel Blue 0146), especially where contamination from oils and/or cleaner is left behind during the cleaning process. Solution: cap this colour with clear or test for each specific application. The clouding can be erased from an uncapped piece by capping with clear glass and firing to a full fuse.
