Create striking linear designs in your kiln-formed or torch-worked projects with these Bullseye Ribbons.
Imagine taking a piece of your favourite stringer and flattening it with a magic rolling pin – voila! That’s Bullseye Ribbon, as long as stringers and in the same packaging but 4-5mm wide and fettucine-flat. And just like homemade fettucine, each Ribbon expresses its handmade origin through slight organic variations in width and straightness.

Experiment with reactive glasses. Here the dark interface reaction between the silver foil and the red opal, capped with clear, creates interest in the piece:
Cold characteristics:
Colour variations common from red-orange to terracotta. Frequently lightly streaked and with yellow mottling on back of single-rolled sheet.
Working notes:
A cadmium/selenium glass. Can react with lead-bearing glasses or overglazes. Possible reactions with 1311, 1215.
Much colour variation typical upon firing. If specific colour is important, always test before beginning project. Use glasses from same dates. Do not assume that sheets of the same colour when cold will fire identically.
This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for an extended period.
