This transparent is a deep red, very slightly pinker than Red (1122). This glass matures to its target colour on firing. Garnet red trans is also available in fine and coarse frit.
Bullseye Frit is made from crushed, screened and magnetically cleaned Bullseye Compatible sheet glass. Frits are extremely versatile and can be used in kilnforming, including glass sketch and painting with light techniques, as well as in torchworking and blowing, to create colours and patterns on surfaces.
Contains:
Selenium, Sulphur
May React With:
Copper, Lead, Silver
Cold characteristics:
Fine and Medium frits usually appear lighter than their fired colour, even when the glass is not a striker. Please see the bottom half of the sheet glass image below for a better idea of the fired colour.
Working notes:
Matures to a more consistent colour with deeper saturation. May contain subtle threads of darker colour. May opalise heavily with excessive heatwork.
This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for an extended period.
