Product Information
Powder Frit - Bullseye White Opalescent.

Reactive GlassMore reactive than White Opal, we now stock this as a powder by popular demand.

Bullseye Frit is made from crushed, screened and magnetically cleaned Bullseye Compatible sheet glass. Frits are extremely versatile and can be used in kilnforming, including glass sketch and painting with light techniques, as well as in torchworking and blowing, to create colours and patterns on surfaces.

May React with:

Selenium and Sulphur

Working Notes:

This glass can be unstable when subjected to extended heatwork (pattern bars, pot melts, boiled effect, kilncasting, etc.). Firing above 1500°F (815°C) for more than 15 minutes or firing slowly between 1250°F (677°C) and 1500°F (815°C) may result in an unstable glass. More susceptible to contaminants that seed devitrification than other glasses in the Bullseye line. Use Super Spray, or plan to treat the surface (sandblast, coldwork, or apply clear powder and refire) after firing.

No colour shift upon firing. A dark interface reaction is possible with sulphur-bearing glasses (1137, 0137).

Dense White Powder is recommended for surface use only. It may crackle when used between sheet glass layers.

All our glass is COE90, Bullseye Glass compatible and suitable for applications such as glass fusing, glass casting and glass slumping (unless otherwise stated in the description).

I used the dense white opal frit on some Xmas projects. I was very disappointed with the lack of density. I found that both between layers and on top of clear cap layer the colour white was barely visible. My penguin piece was not as white chappy as I'd hoped although he still looked cute.

Just started using this dense white opal powder and have been pleased with the results. It gives good coverage and I love the reaction when fused with French Vanilla (even if it was a bit of a suprise first time!!)
