The Skutt GM1014 kiln is part of Skutt’s excellent Studio Kiln range. It has a wider chamber than the GM814 with the same generous 34cm depth, and comes fitted with a lid lifter to make opening this kiln almost effortless. It has lid and side elements for even heating and combines its generous chamber size with an advanced, flexible and easy-to-use controller, making it an excellent choice for the studio artist or serious home fuser.

Programmer:

Glassmaster controller

The Skutt GM1014 comes with the GlassMaster controller. A result of many years of research, this controller combines simplicity with flexibility. With Skutt’s unique ‘Glass Fire Mode’, beginners can fire their pieces with confidence, whereas the ‘Ramp/Hold Mode’ offers ultimate flexibility for the more experienced glass artist and those keen to experiment, while remaining simple to program. You can also adjust programs mid-firing, delay the start time to suit your needs and store up to six of your favourite programs to use again and again. See the GlassMaster Controller pdf download for more details.

Chamber size: The chamber is 10 sided with a diameter of 59.5cm. It can comfortably accommodate a 50cm (19 inch) diameter kiln shelf (included). The depth of the kiln is a generous 34cm.

The GM1014 is supplied with:

  • The excellent Glassmaster Controller
  • 20cm stand
  • 50cm diameter kiln shelf with props

I switched on my Skutt GM1014 for the first time on 4th May 2014. That was 54 days ago & it has now done 54 firings!!! The kiln has performed perfectly on Full /Tack /slump. I am so pleased with it. Just one word of warning the "bungs" break if you drop them on the floor! Brilliant service & support from all at Warm Glass Thanks Judy T

I've had my GM1014 kiln now for a little over 6 months and I love it!!
It's really easy to programme and really versatile, because it's quite deep then it's great for Drops or large drape projects.

I have had my GM1014 since October and I love it. I also have a Skutt Firebox 14 which I have had almost 3 years that I also love. I use the 1014 for dropouts and the Firebox for my smaller pieces. As regards niggles, I have found none (so far!). The glass master controller is really very easy to use and has some nice features for adding time and temp, alarms, delayed start, etc.
