Texture can add a further dimension to fusing through the interlacing of components and shallow kiln-carving techniques.
In this class you will create at least three small finished pieces and a variety of reference samples to take home with you.

Warm Glass UK, 5 Havyatt Park, Wrington, Bristol. BS40 5PA
Class Description
In this class we will design pieces that have texture on both surfaces, we will learn how to devise specific firing schedules to create exactly the textured effect we want to achieve in a piece, and explore multiple firing.
This class will give you a comprehensive understanding of glass and heatwork, enabling you to create pieces that are unique and innovative.
We will cover kiln-carving to create texture on the back of a piece, using plaster, ceramic string and fibre paper. We will then look at the ways in which we can add texture to the top surface using frit, stringers, pre-fired shapes, lattices and weaving.
