Product Information

Glass Rod - Orange Transparent Striker.

This is a vibrant and fresh shade, which matures to its target colour on firing.  For a pinker shade, try Sunset Coral Striker (1305).

Rods can be used in torchworking and kilnforming, and add an exciting difference to glass work! Drawn from compatible Bullseye glass, each rod is approximately 42cm long and 4-6mm in diameter.

This colour is a striker.

Selenium, Sulphur

May React With:

Copper, Lead, Silver

Cold Characteristics

Pale transparent amber, similar to 001120-0576 and 001437-0576. May have a struck streak of orange running lengthwise down the rod.

Working notes:

Torch: Strikes to saturated, transparent orange. Keep this glass transparent by using it in small amounts with minimal heatwork, or adding it towards the end of the time in the flame. We advise labelling all striking glasses.

Kiln:  A cadmium/selenium glass. Generally fires deeper (more red) than cold sheet.  This style is not suitable for kilncasting because it can opalise and/or become incompatible when held at high temperatures for a extended periods.
