June 28-29th 2012 - Creating Images in Glass

Explore the cutting edge of image transfer and manipulation for kilnforming in this intensive class.

You will finish this class with three pieces made using the three methods presented.

Class Description

New digital technologies have opened up some exciting areas which allow image transfer and printing processes to be used by the glass artist.  This class will explore three specific areas.

• creating images using digital technology
• screen printing onto glass
• sand blasting glass

Using imagery ranging from photographs to hand-drawn artwork, you will learn how to make decal transfers, print images from pre-prepared screens and sandblast thorough stencils prepared using a variety of methods.

This class is both intensive and rewarding, giving you the knowledge and ability to go on to make unique artwork.

What to Prepare

• no previous experience required
• please wear work clothes and closed toed shoes
• all materials and a delicious lunch are included and all necessary tools are provided.  Please advise us of any special dietary requirements.
• we restrict the class size to 8 people
• we teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)

Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course 100% refund or alternative class offered, after that date a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week prior to the course.
