Aug 2nd-3rd 2012 - Fusing and Slumping Foundation

You will finish this class witha  wide variety of reference samples, as well as two finished pieces of work.

Class Description

With a 'hands on' focus, each student will work with many different materials to produce samples and several final pieces.  The aim will be to give you the confidence to produce reliable results in the kiln.  Over the two day course we will cover the following:

• Confidence with glass cutting

• What do you need to set up a studio?

• health and safety in the studio

• what is compatible glass

• glass and heat - what happens in the kiln?

• kiln preparation and firing schedules

• slumping approach and technique

• throuble-shooting with examples of things to avoid

• working with accessory glass and inclusions

• beyond flat pieces - an overview of slumping

Teacher - Becky Wills, who has trained at Bullseye Glass in Oregon.

What to Prepare

• no previous experience required
• please wear work clothes and closed toed shoes
• all materials and a delicious lunch are included and all necessary tools are provided.  Please advise us of any special dietary requirements.
• we restrict the class size to 8 people
• we teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90)

Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course 100% refund or alternative class offered, after that date a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week prior to the course.
